Chicago Muslims Against
Hunger!
Have you considered the person who denies the Judgment? It is he who pushes aside the orphan and does not urge others to feed the needy (The
Qur'an, 107 "Common Kindness," verses 1-3)
Overview:
Once again the Muslims of Chicago are joining hands in order to collect cans for the Greater
Chicago Food Depository. Our goal is to collect ten thousand cans and ten
thousand dollars to recognize hunger awareness month (June).
In Cook County, in any given week, 91,366 different people rely on emergency feeding programs served by the Food Depository.
For more facts on what kind of help this program will provide, click
here.
How can you help?:
There are two ways to help. You can donate virtual cans via credit card, or
you donate real cans.
To buy cans/donate online [CLICK HERE] (Greater Chicago Food Depository website)
Please call 312 846 7136 if your mosque would like to host a storage bin for
cans. This page will be updated with names of drop of points (mosques, stores
and centers) as we have them.

Ayah of the Day
|
|
And (remember) when you met (the army of the disbelievers on the Day of the battle of Badr), He showed them to you as few in your eyes and He made you appear as few in their eyes, so that Allâh might accomplish a matter already ordained (in His Knowledge), and to Allâh return all matters (for decision). [Al-Anfal 8 : 44]

Hadith of the Day
|
|
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Messenger said, “There are three signs of a hypocrite; when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he is trusted, he betrays this trust.” (Agreed upon). Al-Bukhari and Muslim reported the Hadith of ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar with this addition: “and when he quarrels, he abuses.” (Muslim reported it)
