PARENTING

Childhood, school, job, marriage, and...children. Practically everyone goes through these cycles of life. The most important job a family does is help guide our future generation through these milestones in life. Each child is different; each family and its challenges are different. But there is a lot which we all share in common.

The family is still a strong part of our identity as Muslims in America, but it is under pressure in a society where gender competition seems to be more important than cooperation between genders.

The challenges that Muslim parents face in the West are unique. We can help each other by sharing issues, questions, and answers. With this in mind, we are sharing a few articles here.

Ayah of the Day
And (remember) when you met (the army of the disbelievers on the Day of the battle of Badr), He showed them to you as few in your eyes and He made you appear as few in their eyes, so that Allâh might accomplish a matter already ordained (in His Knowledge), and to Allâh return all matters (for decision). [Al-Anfal 8 : 44]
Hadith of the Day
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Messenger asked, “Do you know what is backbitting?” They replied, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said, “It is saying something about your brother which he dislikes.” Someone asked, “Supposing that what I said about my brother was true?”, and he replied, “If what you say about him is true you have backbitten him and if it is not true you have said falsehood against him.” (Muslim reported it)
Quote of the Day
"He who is not trustworthy has no faith; he who does not keep his word has no religion." Hadith
