POOR
AND NEEDY
The Prophet (pbuh) declared
it the right of the poor to be fed by the whole community.
The Quran encourages Muslims to look for those people who
may not "look" poor but may be in need. The Quran
encourages Muslims to give openly and/or secretly. Zakat is
one of the five pillars of Islam. Social justice is one of
the major concerns of Islam's economic system.
We must ask ourselves what
are we as Muslims doing for the poor and needy?
Let's share our thoughts on
the topic and bring those Muslim individuals and communities
who are working for the cause of the poor in the lime light:

Hadith of the Day

|
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Messenger said, “A Muslim has six duties towards another Muslim: When you meet him, salute him; when he invites you, accept it; when he asks you advice, give it to him; when he sneezes and praises Allah, say ‘May Allah have mercy on you’; when he is ill, visit him; and when he dies follow his funeral.” (Reported by Muslim)
