1. Is my contribution tax deductible?
Yes. DawaNet is a registered non-profit organization with
Tax Exempt 501 (c) 3 status. You will receive a tax exempt
letter for $145 contribution for sacrifice.
2. Can I contribute some funds for this project to
help the poor since I am not doing the sacrifice here?
Yes. You can do that.
3. Can I donate only a portion of sacrificial meat,
the remaining will be for my consumption?
No. This program is set up as 100% charity.
4. Do you have plans to offer this project at other
locations in USA?
At this moment our distribution is only at Chicago. If you
are interested for distribution in your city we can arrange
that as well if the number of sacrifices are substantial.
5. People suffering because of Katrina, Muslims in Africa and Asia are in great need for
help. Why don't we help them?

6. How can I help in supporting your project?
We are always looking for volunteers.

7. Could you describe the method of distribution?
We have made arrangement with Greater Chicago Food Depository
to distribute the meat. This organization acts as a distribution
center for all other food banks in Greater Chicago Area including
Muslim run food banks. It has freezers to store perishables
and trucks and manpower to distribute the food items. All
this function is available to us free of cost.
8. Why was beef chosen as sacrificial meat and in
which cuts it will be available?
Beef was chosen since this meat is acceptable to all Americans.
Few Americans eat lamb or goat.
For simplification we have opted to ground beef only.
9. Could you tell me about packages and how will
they be identified as Muslim contribution?
All packages will have a label containing on behalf of Muslims
in Chicago. All packages will be of four pound weight. This
is an ideal size for distribution.
